Passing of June Johnson
It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of one of New Zealand Powerlifting’s longstanding members, Mrs June Johnson, who has passed away at the age of 67. June was involved in the sport for over 30 years and participated as a lifter, referee and official. June held several International Titles and held a number of World Records. In addition she was a Category Referee for 15 years and involved as a NZ local committee member and national Treasurer up until July when she fell ill. She was a life member of both Waikato Bay of Plenty and New Zealand Powerlifting. On behalf of the entire IPF, I extend our sincere sympathies to June's family and particularly her husband Charlie.
