One step closer to IOC Recognition with AIMS
IPF President, Gaston Parage and IPF Secretary General and AIMS Executive Board Member, Robert Keller were present to witness the historic signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between AIMS and the IOC.
The IPF is a long-time member of AIMS (Alliance of Independent Recognised Members of Sport) so this agreement has great significance for the IPF.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by 4 Vice Presidents from the IOC, and IOC Director General Christophe De Kepper; this is a testament of the importance of the signing.
AIMS is a group of 23 international sport federations, which are members of SportAccord. Now, with this MofU, they have the right to be included in the “Olympic Movement Directory”.
AIMS proudly supports and promotes the vision and mission of the Olympic movement by sustaining and developing sports, importantly through the education of youth through sport and to continue to be credible in sport through the applicable principles of the Olympic Movement.
The IOC acknowledges the role and leadership of AIMS, and its valuable contribution to support the Olympic Movement.
Just one more step closer in the right direction for the IPF achieving recognition by the IOC.
